paddy casey and shoulders.

I was at Paddy Casey in Dolan's last night.
Brilliant. It was a very good gig. He has some voice in fairness.
When he just goes accoustic on his own, I could listen to him all day.
Although I have to say the band with him were brilliant as well.
For 15 euro a ticket how far wrong could you go.

I covered the shoulder in my physical therapy course this weekend.
So if anyone has a dodgy shoulder, I need bodies to practice on so let me know.

Thomond Park

I am driving past Thomond park every day. It looks mad. They have part of the roof on the new stadium now. Its very impressive looking. I can't wait to go to a match there. Probably just a magner's league game or something. They are working long hours on it. I was driving home from pilates at half eight last night and they were still working away.

About this blog, I just started it lately. Just as an experiment really. Anyway if you see these notes through facebook, my blog is published on

Have a look an leave a comment if you want.
Ok hope everybody has a great weekend.

Rollerblading and poker.

Jen and Tara visited for the weekend. You can see some of the photos on Tara's facebook account. It was great to see them we had a good catch up. And we had a go at rollerblading on Sunday morning, much to the amusement of my neighbours. Good fun. Not really my forte though.

Playing poker, this sat. Looking forward to that. Starting at three, so should have enough time to clean everyone out. :)
I will let you all know how I get on.

Back from the Brink.

I am reading, Paul McGrath's biography at the moment.
Wow its an amazing story. He had a hard life. As did his mother and sister.
Even if you hate sports biographies, I recommend this book.
If you want you can just stop reading half way through, when it becomes more about soccer.
For me it was hard to believe an Irish orphan could have such a harsh life in such recent times.

courses and hearing

Well, started my physical therapy course this weekend in Cork.
It went great. I am really happy with it. Got stuck into some of the studying last night. There is a lot to do but I am enjoying it.
Thanks to Mary and Niall for the bed on Fri night. I ended up going home to Dungarvan on Sat night. Hazel and Jimmy were there so had fun spending time with them. Plus got a nice bacon and cabbage dinner. Was definitely worth the trip! Even if I had to get up at 7:30 on Sun to make it back to Cork. Hazel came into my room early anyway to help me get up.

In other news, I found out I am completely deaf in my left ear last week. I was kind of expecting it so it wasn't too much of a shock. Its still disappointing though. There is not much can be done for it really. And the other ear isn't great either. Still I can manage away with it.
Anyway if I ignore you, now you know the reason. Stand or sit on my right side please.
Actually, you know what I hate, when some one rings me and starts talking away without saying there name. It takes me the first few mins of the conversation to figure out who I am talking to. At which point I have missed some of the most important part of the conversation. Anyway that's my rant over with for now.

Not sure about this..

But I will give it a go.

So I am back in work a week now. It's great to be back.
I can't believe how fast the week goes.
In some ways it's like I have never been away. In other ways, I am after forgetting how to do simple things, like checking out our code repository. Still it all comes back fairly fast.

Also want to say rest in peace to Molly. Paddy's sheep dog was knocked down yesterday. She was a great dog. Hazel is missing her a lot.

Thats all for now.
